NEET Paper Leak Case: CBI Investigates Possible Internal Connection, NTA-Linked Official Under Scanner
NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Investigation Deepens, CBI Examines Possible Internal Connection
The investigation surrounding the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak is taking a new turn, with reports suggesting that investigators are now looking into the possibility of internal involvement. According to sources, an unidentified individual linked to the examination system has reportedly come under the scanner as authorities continue their probe.
The latest development comes after the arrest of Manisha Sanjay Waghmare and chemistry lecturer PV Kulkarni, who are among the accused in the case. Following their arrest, both were placed under CBI custody for further questioning.
Possible Internal Role Under Investigation
During the investigation, officials reportedly discovered indications that the leak may not have been an external operation alone. Sources claim that the agency suspects a larger conspiracy involving several individuals.
Investigators allege that question papers and answer-related material may have been accessed before the examination date and later circulated among certain individuals. Authorities are now attempting to identify how sensitive material moved from confidential channels to accused persons.
Reports also suggest that Waghmare came into contact with Kulkarni through biology lecturer Manisha Mandhare, who is believed to be an important link in the case.
The investigation further claims that exam-related content was allegedly shared with others in exchange for money, leading authorities to examine a wider network connected to the case.
Mandhare’s Role Under Focus
Manisha Mandhare has now become a major focus in the ongoing investigation. She was recently taken into custody as agencies continue questioning individuals connected with the case.
According to sources, investigators suspect that certain examination-related information may have been provided to selected students in return for financial benefits. Authorities are examining whether her involvement in academic processes provided access to sensitive material.
Re-Examination Announced
Following the controversy and cancellation of the earlier examination conducted on May 3, the National Testing Agency has announced that the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam is scheduled for June 21, 2026.
The issue sparked widespread discussions across the country and raised concerns regarding examination security and transparency.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also stated that from next year, the examination process is expected to move toward a computer-based format.
The entire controversy has triggered fresh debates over the safety and credibility of one of India’s biggest medical entrance examinations.
