NEET UG 2025 syllabus released: How to prepare for the exam?

The NEET syllabus is completely based on Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT textbooks. No additional topics are included. Following the official syllabus helps students avoid confusion and prepare in a focused manner.

Understand the Syllabus Clearly

Before starting preparation, students must have a clear understanding of the NEET syllabus. It consists of Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, taken entirely from NCERT Class 11 and 12. Concentrating only on the prescribed topics helps save time and improves efficiency.

Begin with Biology

Biology has the highest weightage in NEET. Students should study Botany and Zoology thoroughly. Special attention should be given to NCERT diagrams, examples, and highlighted lines. Important areas include cell biology, human physiology, genetics, evolution, biotechnology, ecology, and human health.
Make short notes for effective revision.

Focus on Physics Concepts

Physics questions mainly test conceptual clarity and problem-solving skills. Important topics include motion, laws of motion, work and energy, gravitation, thermodynamics, waves, electricity, magnetism, optics, and modern physics.
Regular practice of numerical problems and previous year questions is essential.

Strengthen Chemistry

Chemistry should be prepared by dividing it into Physical, Organic, and Inorganic sections.

  • Physical Chemistry: Focus on formulas, numerical problems, and concepts

  • Organic Chemistry: Learn reactions, mechanisms, and functional groups

  • Inorganic Chemistry: Study the periodic table, chemical bonding, and coordination compounds

Use NCERT as the Main Study Material

Most questions in NEET are asked directly from NCERT textbooks. Therefore, students should read NCERT thoroughly and revise it multiple times. Prepare concise notes for quick revision.

Practice and Revise Regularly

Solve previous year question papers and attempt mock tests frequently. Identify weak areas and revise them properly. Time management should be practiced along with question solving.

Make a Proper Study Plan

Prepare a realistic daily and weekly study schedule. Allocate extra time to weaker subjects, but do not ignore strong topics. Consistency and discipline are key to success.

Stay Healthy and Motivated

Take regular breaks, maintain a healthy diet, and get adequate sleep. A positive mindset helps maintain motivation throughout the preparation journey.
