NEET UG 2026: NTA issues document advisory ahead of registrations

The advisory was released yesterday, January 5, 2026, and mainly focuses on Aadhaar details, disability-related documents, and category certificates.

Aadhaar Card details must be correct

NTA has advised all NEET UG 2026 aspirants to ensure that their Aadhaar Card is updated and accurate in all respects. The details on the Aadhaar Card should exactly match the information that will be filled in the NEET application form.

Candidates are asked to carefully check the following details on their Aadhaar Card:

  1. Name

  2. Date of birth

  3. Gender

  4. Photograph

  5. Address

  6. Biometric information, wherever applicable

If any detail is incorrect, candidates should update it as soon as possible. Aadhaar details can be updated by visiting the official Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website at uidai.gov.in or by visiting an Aadhaar enrolment/update centre.

NTA has said that correct Aadhaar details will help avoid discrepancies, rejection of forms, or issues during later stages of the admission process.

Important advisory for candidates with disabilities

Candidates with disabilities have been advised to use a Unique Disability ID (UDID) card. The UDID card must be valid, updated, and renewed. Using an invalid or outdated card may create issues during document verification.

Category certificates must be valid

Candidates applying under reserved categories must ensure that their category certificates are valid and issued as per rules. This includes certificates for EWS and OBC-NCL.

Students are advised to keep their certificates ready and updated before filling out the NEET UG 2026 application form.

The NEET UG 2026 registration process and exam dates will be announced soon on the official website. Candidates must check nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in regularly for the latest updates and instructions.
