NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam on June 21: Government Announces Tight Security Measures

Senior government officials recently reviewed the arrangements for the re-exam and emphasized that any attempt to interfere with, manipulate, or disrupt the examination will be dealt with strictly under the law. Authorities have made it clear that maintaining the credibility of the examination remains a top priority.

The re-examination is being conducted after the original NEET UG 2026 test held on May 3 was cancelled following allegations of a question paper leak. The decision affected more than 22 lakh candidates across the country and led to the scheduling of a fresh examination on June 21.

To prevent any repeat of past issues, multiple layers of security have been introduced. Experts involved in preparing the question paper have been placed under strict supervision at secure locations, with limited outside communication until the examination process is completed.

In addition, enhanced surveillance systems, tighter transportation protocols for question papers, CCTV monitoring, and coordination between central and state agencies have been implemented. Security forces have also been deployed to assist with the safe movement and handling of confidential examination materials.

Officials have urged candidates to ignore rumors and misinformation circulating on social media and rely only on official updates issued by NTA. Students are advised to focus on their preparation and carefully follow the instructions mentioned in their admit cards.

The government has stated that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure that the June 21 re-exam is conducted transparently, securely, and without any disruptions, restoring confidence in the country's largest medical entrance examination.
