Can I take part in both MCC (All India Quota) counselling and my home state counselling?Quota / domicile eligibility
Yes. If you are eligible, you can register for MCC All India Quota counselling and your home state counselling at the same time — they are separate processes with separate registration, fees and schedules. If you get a seat in both, you can join only one. Before the next round, follow the resignation / exit rules of the counselling you are leaving, otherwise you may lose your security deposit or be blocked from the next round. Tip: keep the MCC and your state schedule side by side so you never miss a reporting or resignation date.

What is the difference between "free exit" and "upgrade" in MCC counselling?Round strategy (upgrade / resign / free exit)
Free exit: in the early round(s) you can leave the allotted seat without losing your security deposit and still take part in the next round. Upgrade (willing for upgradation): you report and keep the allotted seat, and also tell MCC you want a better choice in the next round. If a better choice is allotted, the old seat is released automatically; if not, you keep the seat you already have. Which rounds allow free exit and how upgrades work can change every year, so always check the current MCC information bulletin before deciding.

Which documents do I need when reporting to the allotted college?Documents & reporting
Usually you need the originals plus 2–3 photocopies of: • NEET admit card and NEET result / rank letter • Provisional allotment letter • Class 10 certificate (date of birth proof) • Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate • Photo ID (Aadhaar / PAN / passport etc.) • Passport-size photographs (same as in the application) • Category / EWS / PwD certificate, if you applied in that category • Domicile certificate for state quota seats Colleges and states can ask for extra papers (medical fitness, gap affidavit, migration, etc.), so check the allotment letter and the college notice before you travel.

How many choices should I fill during choice filling, and does the number of choices affect my allotment?Choice filling
There is no penalty for filling more choices, and filling more does not reduce your chances — what matters is the order. • Put the college + course you want most at the top, then go down in order of preference. • Fill only colleges you are really ready to join; if a seat is allotted from your list, you are expected to take it (or follow the exit rules). • Add enough realistic and safe options below your dream choices so you do not end up with no seat. Our My Choice List tool helps you build this list from last year's closing ranks.

What is a service bond in medical colleges and should I worry about it?Fees, bond & stipend
A service bond is a condition (mostly in government colleges of some states) that after completing the course you must work in a government hospital for a fixed period — or pay a fixed bond amount instead. The bond period and amount are different for every state and sometimes every college, and the rules change from time to time. Before choice filling, check the bond in the state counselling information bulletin / college prospectus so you are not surprised later. On Medica Wing, College Fees and College Compare show the bond wherever it has been updated.
